Register NOW for the 2023 Triad Conference

Registration is now open for the 2023 Triad Conference The goal of the Triad Conference is to provide valuable information on topics related to safety, crime prevention and healthy living for older adults. The conference will be held in Madison on Friday October 20, 2023 at the American Family Insurance Training Center. You can register online at https://conta.cc/454KkAh . The registration fee is $30 and includes a box lunch. Registration is limited to 200 participants.

Check-in begins at 8:00 with the keynote address at 8:30. This year the keynote will be given by Margarita Northrop, Wisconsin State Health Plan Coordinator, Wisconsin Department of Health Services. A highly experience public health professional, Ms. Northrop’s address is titled Health and Wellbeing in Retirement: Understanding Civic Engagement and Health. And she will take questions from the audience following her address.

The breakout sessions will begin at 9:30 with four presentations to choose from every hour and a half. We have worked diligently to bring an outstanding group of experts to the conference with topics ranging from “Stop the Bleed” training, conducted by sheriff’s deputies and paramedics, to “Staying Safe on the Internet”, presented by the deputy chief of information security at the UW-Madison, to the latest research on “Modifiable Risk Factors for Dementia” presented by a prominent UW-Madison researcher, and so much more. A complete conference program can be downloaded at https://bit.ly/3PdZihd and includes information about the speakers and their presentations. For a quick peek, though, I have inserted the first page below.

Box lunches will be served beginning at 12:15, and the last round of breakout sessions will begin at 1:00. And in addition to the keynote and the breakout sessions, there will be an Exhibitor Area with representatives from various organizations that work with and serve older adults. Finally, the Triad Conference is a terrific opportunity to network with other people from around the state who are interested in the safety, wellbeing and health of older adults. We plan to have everything wrapped up at 3:00 so that you can avoid the traffic on your way home, or back to your hotel for the start of a great weekend in the Madison area. If you are thinking about staying for the weekend, be sure to check out the VisitMadison website to see what is going on.
