Veterans Day is just around the corner and RSVP volunteer Neil McCallum has written to us about one of our favorite Veteran’s Day efforts, Operation Green Light for Vets, and it’s easy for you to be a part of it. Here is Neil’s letter.
=================
What better way to continue the America 250 celebration of our country’s founding than by honoring those who have served in our nation’s armed forces. Again this year, a simple green porch light will symbolize your support for those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. This year, we would like to encourage the Madison area to show their support!
By shining a green light, we let our veterans know that they are seen, appreciated and supported.
“Operation Green Light” is a gesture of support and appreciation for the public service of our Veterans and their families!
In 2023, the Dane County Board recognized the Green Light for Veterans programs. Please indicate your support from November 7th through 15th by placing a green light bulb in your porch light.
Please help the Madison area glow green! This simple gesture will mean so much to our Veterans! LED green light bulbs may be purchased at most local hardware stores.
