Our next Senior Planet tech skills class will be August 29 and will focus on banking and finance apps and digital wallets. You must register to attend since the class is limited to ten participants per class. Please use this online registration form.
We will begin at 9:45 with coffee/tea and donuts, and class will begin promptly at 10:00. In the first hour of the class, we will focus on banking and finance apps as we explore a free, mobile banking demo site where you can familiarize yourself with some of the most popular features of mobile banking, including built-in budgeting features that can help you take better control of your finances. We’ll also go over the industry standards that banks employ to keep your money safe and discuss the steps you can take to avoid scams. Finally, we’ll introduce some popular budgeting apps and provide a brief overview of the world of digital payments.
What item can you not leave home without? If you said your phone, this lecture is for you! If you said your wallet, you should probably come too! The second half of the class will introduce you to digital wallets on our smartphones. These allow us to go about our daily lives without ever needing to pull out our actual wallets. In this presentation, we’ll review the basic features of the most popular digital wallets: Apple Wallet and Google Wallet and talk about their many uses beyond purchases. We’ll also discuss features/considerations for security and privacy.
We’ll finish at 12:15 and have a light lunch and a chance to talk more with each other and the Senior Planet Trainers.

Parking is available on the street and in the parking lot behind the building. The RSVP office is on the second floor.
