Our next Senior Planet tech skills class is June 26 from 9:45-12:15 and will focus on Tech Basics for Caregiving and Aging in Place. To register for the class, please use this online form. We are limited to 10 per class, so please only register if you are very certain you can attend.
Caregiving is challenging in different ways for both the caregivers and the recipients of care. Thankfully, there are a variety of tech tools that can make caregiving easier for both and allow people to do more on their own. In the first hour, we’ll explore ways to integrate technology into your daily routine: from scheduling reminders with your phone or home assistant, to accessing self-care resources and making the most of telehealth appointments. We’ll also explore options for ordering and receiving essential items like groceries and prescription drugs from the comfort of your home.
In the second hour, we’ll learn how home assistants, smart appliances, and wearables can save you time and money, help you manage health conditions, and even give you greater peace of mind. We’ll also discuss best practices for maintaining your privacy and security when using this technology.
You can register for the class using this online form. We are limited to 10 participants per class. Class will be held at the RSVP office, 6501 Watts Road, Suite 250, Madison. We will begin at 9:45 with coffee/tea and donuts, and class will start promptly at 10:00. We will finish with a light lunch at 12:15 and a chance to talk more with each other and the Senior Planet Trainers.
Parking is available on the street and in the parking lot behind the building. The RSVP office is on the second floor. Take the elevator to the second floor, then turn right and go to the end of the hallway. You can also take the stairs, then take a left and go to the end of the hallway. You’re welcome to bring your smartphone and laptop to use in the workshop. And we will have Windows laptops you can borrow.
