Our next Senior Planet tech skills class is May 8 from 9:45-12:15 at the RSVP office. You can register using this online form. Have you tried ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude or another AI app? Are you curious about using these amazing, new tools, but you’re not sure where to start? In this class, we’ll explore tips for using generative AI chat programs so you can make them work for you. You’ll learn how to write questions, or prompts, that are specific and effective at getting helpful responses. Whether you plan to use them at work, for personal projects, or just for fun, we’ll show you how this tech can help you with all sorts of tasks. We’ll also cover best practices for privacy and security so you can be a confident user.
The second hour of the class will be a hands-on workshop in which we’ll practice chatting with Google Gemini. We’ll go over tips for writing effective questions, or prompts, as well as different use cases, from drafting emails to travel planning. We’ll also practice using the app’s voice features, including Gemini Live. Finally, we’ll explore the privacy settings and discuss best practices to ensure you can use the app safely and confidently.
To register for the class, please use this online form. We are limited to 10 per class, so please only register if you are very certain you can attend. Class will be held at the RSVP office, 6501 Watts Road, Suite 250, Madison. We will begin at 9:45 with coffee, tea and donuts, and class will start promptly at 10:00. We will finish with a light lunch at 12:15 and a chance to talk more with each other and the Senior Planet Trainers.
Parking is available on the street and in the parking lot behind the building. The RSVP office is on the second floor. Take the elevator to the second floor, then turn right and go to the end of the hallway. You can also take the stairs, then take a left and go to the end of the hallway. You’re welcome to bring your smartphone and laptop to use in the workshop. And we will have Windows laptops you can borrow.
