Where Volunteers Make a Difference

A Stand Down Event to help Veterans who are homeless or at risk to connect with valuable resources - from employment and training to free medical/dental evaluations - will be held Saturday, October 22, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Salvation Army, 3030 Darbo Drive, Madison.

All Volunteers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness are invited to attend a day designed to provide relief, resources and comradery.  Breakfast and lunch will be served.  Resources include haircuts, clothing and hygiene items, mental health services, VA benefit eligibility information and more.  Volunteer drivers from Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and RSVP will provide transportation to and from the event from pick-up points throughout Madison.

For more information on the Stand Down, visit www.standdownmadison.org, search Facebook for Stand Down Madison - Wayne D. Horner Memorial, or view the Stand Down Poster.  Volunteers are also needed to help with the event.  If you would like to help, contact Tom Poppe at RSVP at 238-7901 or .
