Where Volunteers Make a Difference

In honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, RSVP is working with the Porchlight Hospitality House to collect donations of food and personal care items.  Hospitality House is a day center for Madison's homeless population that provides food and personal care items as part of their services.

In consultation with the Hospitality House Director, we are asking for donations of unopened food items that are easily warmed or portable.  Examples of food items include:  instant oatmeal packets, Ramen noodles, canned soups, peanut butter and jelly for sandwiches, granola bars, fruit cups, Vienna sausages, tuna, or any other items high in protein or carbohydrates.  Other helpful items include paper plates, styrofoam cups, and plastic utensils which are used to heat up foods at Hospitality House.

New, unopened personal care items are also appreciated.  Items such as toothbrushes, bar soap, small tubes of toothpaste, feminine hygiene items, dental floss, deodorant, etc., are needed.

Please bring your items to the RSVP office at 517 N. Segoe Road, Suite 300, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  We will accept donations of items through January 29, 2016.  Thank you for your support of this effort.
