Congratulations to RSVP's Bus Buddy Coordinators, Susan Morrison, Heather Johnson, Bruce Verhelst, and Angela Haskin who have received the 2018 United Way Distinguished Service Award. These dedicated volunteers lead our Bus Buddy Tours and work with seniors individually to help them increase their independence by learning to use the Madison Metro Bus System.
Bus Buddy Coordinator Heather Johnson, who has volunteered with the program since it began four years ago, also received WKOW-TV's Jefferson Award for May, 2018, honoring her outstanding work in the Bus Buddy Program. Read more about her reward here.
Bus Buddy Tours offer seniors, age 60 and over, an opportunity to learn to navigate the Madison Metro Bus System while enjoying a group tour to a fun Madison location. The program was designed to help ease the way for those who are not used to using the bus system, while creating a fun group social outing. Bus Buddy Tours are supported with funding from Dane County Human Services and AAA, and there is no cost to participate in the tours listed below.
