What is a
Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Group Project?
RSVP Group Projects consist
of volunteers who meet on a regular basis to
create handmade items that are distributed to any non-profit agencies
which can include schools and hospitals in Dane County. Group Projects gather in senior centers, church basements,
private homes, or other facilities or, in some cases, work as
individual Homeworkers. Members
are skilled in knitting, sewing, crocheting, and needlepoint. Opportunities for
meeting and developing friends and other social interaction are provided.

RSVP Group Projects recycle donated
bedspread to be used as batting for quilts and stuffing for bears, also fabric, yarn,
and thread to make
useable items, such as mittens, hats, scarves, baby layettes, toddler sweaters, afghans, and prayer shawls.
There is no charge for these
wonderful handmade items; however, donations of materials such as yarn,
thread, large pieces of cotton fabric, denim, corduroy and fleece are
greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, we cannot accept, knit,
polyester, silky or shiny fabrics. Monetary donations are gladly
accepted as well to purchase the above supplies.
For
information about RSVP Group Projects, or to make a donation of materials
or funds, contact Karlene, at (608)
