...where volunteers make a difference

Boomers in Action

For retirees who love challenges

What is Boomers in Action?

Boomers in Action is a new program of RSVP of Dane County that will match volunteers who have business and professional skills and experience with Dane County non-profits that need these skills and experience.

Non-profit organizations are good at serving a wide range of human needs such as helping seniors remain independent in their homes and feeding the needy.  To support these activities, non-profits need a variety of services to supplement the capabilities of their staffs.

The goal of Boomers in Action is to match the wide variety of skills made available by those who volunteer with the wide variety of needs of the non-profits.

After a busy and challenging career, a retirement of golf and television is not enough for talented people.

Boomers in Action offers an opportunity to continue to use and continue to expand your professional skills while you make a difference.

Boomers in Action offers volunteers a large degree of independence.  Boomers volunteers plan and manage their own activities.  Assignments are generally as individuals or small self-managing teams.  Assignments are for specific problems or projects, and they vary from a few hours to several months duration.

To explore the possibilities, call RSVP of Dane County, at 608 238-7787, if you would like to apply your skills and experience to the needs of non-profits.
