Programs

Intergenerational:

An array of programs providing opportunities for volunteers to interact with children of all ages existing countywide. Programs include:  Tutoring and Mentoring, Computer Buddies, Reading Buddies, Summer Reading Programs, Folk Art Fairs, ONCE (ON-Call Educators), and Foster Grandparents.

Drivers:

The RSVP Driver Services Program has volunteer drivers who provide transportation to Dane County residents who are either age 60 or older.  In addition, our volunteer drivers deliver home delivered meals countywide outside the city of Madison.

Community Connections:

Our volunteers serve in 80 nonprofit and public agencies throughout Dane County.  RSVP personally matches a wide variety of volunteer options with the skills and interests of willing volunteers.  Our volunteers make a positive impact in the community by delivering needed services to people of all ages.

Group Projects:

Volunteers sew, knit, or crochet items such as quilts, baby blankets, toys, mittens, hats, and sweaters in response to requests from schools and social service agencies to help address poverty or emergency needs.

Triad and Safety:

Triad is a crime prevention and safety program that involves seniors, law enforcement, and senior serving agencies on planning committees that address prevention efforts related to preventing abuse of seniors.  Informational presentations and literature is distributed on topics such as Identity Theft, Neighborhood Watch, Telemarketing Scams and Frauds, Travel and Internet Safety.

RSVP Home Safety and Falls Prevention provides trained volunteers from RSVP who schedule a convenient time to visit a person in their home to make it as safe as possible.  Volunteers provide an in-home safety assessment, free safety devices, and information on home security and emergency safety tips.

First Book:

First Book is a national non-profit organization committed to giving children the opportunity to read and own their own books.  RSVP volunteers serve on the local First Book Advisory Board.

Boomers in Action:  

Boomers in Action is a new program of RSVP of Dane County that will match volunteers who have business and professional skills and experience with Dane County non-profits that need these skills and experience.
